Drinking water filter for clean and safe tap water
Evodrop filters out PFAS*, microplastics, and other contaminants—where activated carbon filters and water pitchers fall short. Swiss water filtration technology for every budget.
What are drinking water filters?
Drinking water filters are technical systems or devices designed to remove unwanted substances from tap water. These include visible particles such as sand or rust, as well as invisible contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, microplastics, pharmaceutical residues, and chemical compounds like PFAS*. Depending on the system, filtration is carried out using various methods: physical filtration (e.g., via membranes), chemical reactions (e.g., ion exchange), or innovative electrochemical processes. The goal is always to improve water quality so that it not only tastes and smells better but is also safe for human health.
While conventional filters often only remove coarse impurities or affect the taste, modern systems such as those from Evodrop go much further: they reliably filter even microscopically small, hazardous substances out of the water - without harmful chemical additives and using sustainable technology.
Why filter drinking water?
There is a high level of trust in our Swiss tap water—and rightly so, as it is among the most strictly regulated food products in the world. However, despite strict regulations and regular testing, the water may contain residues that appear harmless at first glance but can have negative long-term effects on health. These include, for example, residues of fertilizers, medications, lead from old pipes, or so-called “forever chemicals” such as PFAS*.
In addition, the taste and smell of tap water can vary depending on the region and composition - limescale, chlorine or iron influence the sensory quality. Drinking water filters can help here by specifically filtering out these substances. This not only creates a more pleasant drinking experience, but also a feeling of safety and control over what enters the body every day.
PFAS - an invisible danger
As reported by SRF and 20min.ch, PFAS were detected in all groundwater samples tested in Switzerland. PFAS (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds) are synthetic substances that are found in impregnations, Teflon pans, extinguishing foam and industrial wastewater, among other things. The worrying thing: These substances are extremely persistent, non-biodegradable and accumulate in the human body and the environment over many years.
The health risks are alarming: studies have linked PFAS to hormonal disorders, a weakened immune system, liver and kidney disease and an increased risk of cancer. It is particularly sensitive that PFAS are tasteless and odorless - their presence in water is not noticeable. This makes targeted filtration with systems designed for these substances all the more important.
Why activated charcoal filters and carafes are not enough
Many people resort to simple table filters or activated carbon filters in the hope that they will noticeably improve the water quality. Such filters can indeed bind some substances such as chlorine or limescale, but are unsuitable for micropollutants such as PFAS or drug residues. The pore size of these filter media is simply not sufficient to reliably filter out the smallest molecules.
In addition, these products usually lack independent test certificates or long-term tests. So if you are looking for a safe, comprehensive solution, you should not be satisfied with symbolic filters - but instead rely on certified technologies that have proven themselves in practice.
The solution: State-of-the-art filter technology from Evodrop*
Evodrop has developed a sustainable and scientifically validated drinking water filtration technology that completely removes even the most stubborn contaminants, such as PFAS. In collaboration with independent Swiss testing laboratories, it has been demonstrated that no detectable levels of PFAS remain in the water after filtration by Evodrop devices*—a result that conventional filtration systems cannot achieve.
Evodrop focuses not only on effectiveness, but also on suitability for everyday use: the systems are low-maintenance, durable and available in different versions for households, offices or restaurants - tailored to every budget and installation situation.
With an Evodrop drinking water filter, you are investing in your health, in your quality of life - and in a future in which pure drinking water is no longer a matter of course, but a conscious decision.
One of many key differences between conventional filters EVODROP water filters
A key difference between conventional filtration systems and Evodrop’s technology lies in its proven filtration performance—particularly with regard to PFAS*. While many providers make vague promises about reducing contaminants, Evodrop is the only Swiss manufacturer to hold an independent laboratory certificate confirming the complete removal of PFAS from drinking water*. The analysis was conducted by a renowned, accredited testing institute in Switzerland and clearly shows: After using an Evodrop system, no PFAS residues were detectable*—not even in the lowest concentrations.
This scientifically proven effectiveness clearly sets Evodrop apart from the competition. It offers not just peace of mind, but genuine, verifiable safety. No marketing promises—just hard data, regularly backed by independent testing. Especially in light of the growing PFAS contamination in groundwater, this evidence* is an invaluable advantage for anyone who wants to take responsibility for their own health and that of their family.
The importance of water filters
Water filters are no longer merely a convenience accessory designed to improve taste. In an era of growing contamination from microplastics, pharmaceutical residues, pesticides, and PFAS, they are playing a central role in protecting our health. Although Swiss tap water is strictly regulated, independent studies show that many contaminants are not completely removed despite modern treatment processes*. This is exactly where modern drinking water filtration systems like those from evodrop come in—with the goal of reliably eliminating even the smallest contaminants and elevating the water to a new level of quality.
The different types of drinking water filters
The market offers a wide range of drinking water filters - from simple solutions for domestic use to more complex systems. However, not all filters are equally effective. Here is an overview of the most common filter types - with their respective strengths and weaknesses:
- Jug and carafe filters: These filters are easy to use and do not require installation. They are mainly used to reduce limescale. However, the actual filter performance is very limited. Pollutants such as PFAS, pesticides or pharmaceutical residues cannot be removed due to the coarse filter pores (usually ≥5 micrometers). There is also an increased risk of contamination if the water is left standing for long periods. The cartridges must be replaced every few weeks. The only benefit is usually the partial softening of the water - this is achieved by exchanging magnesium and calcium ions with sodium, which makes the water softer but also more salty.
- Under-counter filters: These devices are permanently installed under the sink and supply filtered water directly from a separate tap. At first glance, they look professional, but many of the systems available come from unverifiable sources - usually the Far East - and have no valid, independent test certificates. In addition, the filter performance with regard to micropollutants often remains unclear.
- Countertop filters: These models are connected to the tap and stand directly on the worktop. Here too, Asian suppliers dominate with incomprehensible filter performance. As the systems usually work without pressure (tank principle), filtration is limited and the system is often prone to faults. Here too, there is a lack of independent test results.
- Reverse osmosis systems: This technology is considered to be particularly effective as it can remove almost all dissolved substances and pollutants - including PFAS. The downside is that the systems require a lot of space, cause high water loss (wastewater content) and the membranes - usually made in China - have to be replaced regularly. There is also an increased risk of contamination if they are not handled properly. Maintenance is time-consuming and not suitable for every household.
- UV water filters: UV filters use ultraviolet light to kill germs, bacteria and viruses. This technology is useful for microbiological protection - but is ineffective against chemical pollutants such as PFAS, pesticides or heavy metals. It should therefore always be combined with other filter technologies.
- Activated carbon filters: Activated carbon effectively adsorbs chlorine, odors and flavors as well as some organic compounds. However, its limit is reached at particle sizes below 1 micrometer. This means that microplastics, PFAS, chlorothalonil, fluorides, phosphates, many pesticides, fungicides and herbicides are not reliably removed. Suppliers often advertise 99 % filter performance - without making it clear that this only applies to coarse substances. A deceptive sense of security.
- Water ionizers: These devices often combine an activated carbon filter with electrolytic treatment of the water (so-called "ionized water"). The filter performance is limited to coarse substances; harmful substances usually remain in the water. The FDA even warns against consuming more than 500 ml of ionized water per day. The health benefits have not been scientifically proven.
Why EVODrop is the safest and most sensible solution
The analysis shows: Many systems available on the market can solve individual problems - but hardly any system combines effective pollutant removal, independence from chemicals, simple installation and proven effectiveness in one device.
Evodrop takes this a decisive step further:
Thanks to Swiss technology, regularly tested systems, and laboratory certifications confirming the complete removal of even stubborn substances like PFAS*, Evodrop offers by far the most effective solution that is also suitable for everyday use. The systems are durable, low-maintenance, and efficient—and provide reliable protection where other systems fall short.
If you want to protect yourself, your family and the environment in the long term, an Evodrop drinking water filter is a conscious decision for quality, safety and sustainability.

The depth of filtering is crucial
Don't be fooled by the competition, especially carafe manufacturers. They are not filters.
Always compare the depth of filtration if you can. The depth of the filtration also shows you the quality of the filtration. We filter at 0.0005 micrometers. A carafe like Acaia or Britta filters at 5 micrometers.
Choosing the right filter
There are different types of water filters, including:
- Stand filter: for use on the kitchen table
- Filterinstallation: mounted directly on the tap or under the sink
- Travel filters: portable options for on the go
