EVODROP's open letter on reporting

Statement counterstatement to the article the filtered truth by Evodrop in the Beobachter.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear interested parties,
Dear partners,

We are happy to respond to false information circulating on the internet that paints a picture that does not reflect reality, particularly from a technical perspective.

The discussion and reaction from competitors shows how strongly new technologies can shake up a market, especially our bio-based and environmentally friendly descaling technology.
At the same time, such publications can influence confidence in a company because complex issues can easily be distorted in a debate involving different interests.

The Swiss Federal Supreme Court makes it clear: the media may report in an exaggerated and one-sided manner; there is no obligation to report the whole truth.

That is precisely why we focus on open communication, verifiable facts, and the consistent further development of our filter systems. Our goal is to strengthen trust, provide guidance, and create clarity.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you once again about the key facts and provide a transparent overview.
Regarding the allegations that the results were labeled not assessable / not evaluated by the Swiss laboratory.

Quote from the Swiss laboratory:

"The test involved testing the Evodrop water filter (our order), for which no conformity assessment is possible or meaningful. The marking of the samples with the color blue as "not assessed / not assessable" is overrated in this discussion and does not refer to the result of the filtering. Therefore, the other possible evaluation colors red and green in the test reports from the laboratory are irrelevant in this case.

The filtering of viruses and bacteria was proven in the world's largest SGS test report - both for the domestic system and for the kitchen and catering solutions.

The question arises as to why laboratory use is apparently accepted in the case of Appenzeller Wasser, while the same practice is scandalized in the media in the case of Evodrop, even though the underlying terms and conditions are identical.

It is hardly a coincidence that the chairman of the board of AquaSuisse—a private association that represents the interests of its members—is attempting to portray salt systems as being just as "natural" as malic acid.

It is noteworthy that he was previously on the board of directors of BWT, Europe's largest supplier of salt systems. It is well known that salt systems cause considerable environmental pollution. Numerous studies have documented their harmful effects on humans, animals, and ecosystems. They produce hazardous waste and discharge countless liters of wastewater full of chlorides into the environment. In addition, the Thurgau Cantonal Laboratory has warned of the potential health risks and negative consequences of using salt plants.

When innovation and market dynamics trigger change

Our technology received international recognition in 2025 – in Germany with the German Innovation Award and at the Aquatech Amsterdam water exhibition as Innovation of the Year. Aquatech is considered the world's leading trade fair for process, drinking, and wastewater. This once again confirms our entrepreneurial conviction that conventional ion exchange systems are increasingly reaching their limits.
Evodrop offers the only salt-free, bio-based alternative that has achieved a perfect score of 1 in a complete decalcification test conducted by an accredited DVGW laboratory.

In addition, we are the only provider in Switzerland to have received confirmation from a Swiss laboratory that our filter systems completely remove short-chain PFAS and TFAS from an entire property. Advances in dealing with harmful PFAS & TFAS are publicly welcomed. We are delighted to be making a measurable contribution to this.

With this in mind, we as a company are continuing on our successful course.

Our decalcification process using malic acid is safe and environmentally friendly. Our technology protects household appliances, conserves resources, and prevents environmental pollution. We are constantly optimizing our processes and always work constructively with the authorities.

Internationally, the use of salt-based systems is becoming increasingly restricted due to their negative impact on the environment. For us, this is a clear indication of the impending change, and we continue to invest our energy in progress.

Regarding the allegations that "an employee admitted to having falsified audit reports"

The content quoted in the article comes from a dismissal order in connection with a complaint against a former customer. The complaint was filed on the recommendation of the police, as there were grounds for possible criminal proceedings.

In the aforementioned hearing, it was only confirmed that our test results were prepared in Evodrop's own layout without changing the measured values.

In Google's AI view, the accusation against Evodrop was also initially incorrectly formulated as fact. Upon inquiry, the AI corrected its response, apologized, and clarified that these were controversial media statements without a legally binding judgment, a distinction that is lost again when incognito mode is used or a session is restarted due to a lack of long-term storage. Evodrop rejects the accusations and explains that only test results were prepared in terms of layout; measured values were never changed.

Against this backdrop, it is crucial to distinguish between reporting, investigation, and judicial findings.
For readers, this means that AI snippets are not evidence, but rather momentary summaries; verifiable test reports, certifications, and legally binding decisions that EVODROP can present remain decisive. This puts the AI claim into perspective, as it does not reflect the verified state of affairs or the proven facts.

This raises the question of why such formulations are chosen in the first place and whether they are intended to provide objective information or to deliberately influence public perception, including through AI systems.

Closing words

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the messages, calls, and trust you have shown us over the past few years. The positive reactions you have given us on the phone and the encouragement you have given us mean a great deal to us personally. We are, of course, happy to answer any questions you may have.

It's a shame that innovation is sometimes approached so aggressively. We feel validated in continuing and not giving up. In the age of AI, it's definitely worth not jumping to conclusions and forming your own opinion.
