St.Gallen: In an emergency, the city quickly runs out of drinking water

The St.Gallen City Council's report in response to a postulate submitted two years ago has raised eyebrows: Since the construction of the football stadium, shopping center and new roads in Breitfeld, groundwater can no longer be pumped in an emergency for quality reasons, so a new lake water plant has to be built at a cost of around CHF 40 million. Otherwise, drinking water in the city will very quickly become scarce in the event of an emergency.
