Pesticides in groundwater

Pesticides exceed the limit of 0.1 micrograms per liter at around 2% of monitoring sites every year. In addition, degradation products ("metabolites") of pesticides occur in concentrations of more than 0.1 micrograms per liter in groundwater at one in three monitoring sites nationwide. They have a considerable impact on groundwater quality, particularly on the Central Plateau.
