Due to its extremely high and unique dissolving power, water is particularly sensitive to pollution of all kinds, which is constantly increasing caused by rapid population growth, industrialization, medicines and intensive agriculture.
It is our duty to offer appropriate treatment to this element that is often forgotten and taken for granted. Water must be reconsidered in all fields. It must be treated individually in order to have a positive effect on mankind and a sustainable impact on the environment.
Furthermore, we are committed to doing our part for a sustainable environment and together as Evodrop, we support our non-profit organization, the “Umuntu Movement”.
With our team of over 50 employees, we are revolutionizing the water market. Expertise from engineering, science, business and internal entrepreneurial processes ensures a dynamic and highly creative environment.

Conventional water treatment systems are designed and manufactured according to the “Rockefeller principle”. This principle means that the main product is sold at an excessively low price and that the real benefit is obtained through short replacement intervals of the components. In the case of filters, we are talking about filter cartridges that have to be replaced every month. Not only does this cost the consumer more, but it also has a huge impact on the environment! This is precisely where our mission and vision lie – we want to develop sustainable, high-quality and environmentally friendly water filters.
Renowned institutes such as K-Tipp, Stiftung Warentest, EAWAG Switzerland and many others have proven that almost all conventional water filters do more harm than good. Germs caused by stagnant water and the release of pollutants due to late filter replacement are the main problems. We offer customers total protection by integrating sensitive sensors and control units into our systems. In addition, our patented technology offers 100% protection against germs of all kinds. Many claim 99% clean water, but the evidence base for such a claim is illusory and even for experts unrealistic and misleading! We can repeatedly demonstrate that we are able to filter out all pollutants that can be tested.
Furthermore, the market for water filters is deluged with so-called “resellers”. They misinform consumers with extreme half-truths in order to make the most profit possible. Psychologists also speak of the Dunning-Kruger effect. We are not “resellers”; on the contrary, we have developed innovative technologies – which are therefore the subject of an international patent application – to revolutionize the water market.
As a full-service provider, we accompany our customers from consulting to the selection of the most suitable systems and the successful installation. We also listen to our customers and find a solution to every problem and an appropriate answer to every question.
Fabio Hüther, founder of Umuntu and Evodrop, contracted bone cancer at the age of eight with a 50% survival probability. The positive development of his recovery strengthened his desire to contribute to society and environment.
As a teenager, at the age of fourteen, Fabio founded his first NGO, Bee The Change, in order to bring this cause to life and positively influence as many people as possible. A second defining moment was the loss of his African godchild to cholera, caused by contaminated drinking water. That’s when “Bee The Change” became “Umuntu”. Umuntu’s motto – “I am, because we are” – emphasizes the WE rather than the I.
Fabio started to set up the first aid projects, mainly in Africa, where he could rely on a large local network. The objective was to help people in need to purify drinking water. Other aid projects soon followed, offering help to become self-sufficient in the areas of “clean water”, “clean air”, “organic food” and ” meaningful education”.
In parallel with the aid projects, Fabio carried on his engineering studies and worked with geologists on a completely new filter technology. The result was the Umuntu membrane, which can filter out foreign substances and pollutants from water. It is the centerpiece for implementing Umuntu’s vision: “Clean water is a human right”.
When the first tests in Africa turned out to be successful, the first water filter was developed to remove all foreign and polluting substances from the water. Other products were quickly added and the knowledge about water quickly increased. In 2020, Evodrop AG was founded.
Evodrop’s innovative water treatment technologies are the core of its business model. They enable people to have access to clean, healthy and fresh water and can be optimized for every use.
Beyond the success of our business, we are also committed to maintaining an intact planet and a sustainable society. We live by the principles of social ecology and this is reflected in our products. We use sustainable materials and choose quality over quantity.
In order to inspire and empower others with our internally applied socio-ecology, we have set up our non-profit association, the Umuntu Movement e.V.. The Umuntu Movement initiates social-ecological aid projects under the motto “help to help yourself”. We empower people in Third World countries in the fields of water, environment, education and agriculture.
As a Swiss company, we see it as our duty to operate in the Swiss economic area and to actively participate for a sustainable economy.
